Last week, Magdalene was honoured to announce the Adrian Layton apprenticeship, in remembrance of one of its longstanding colleagues.
Across our business, it is the people we work with daily who make Magdalene what it is. Adrian was a beloved member of the Magdalene family for 20 years.
In honour of him, we were delighted to unveil the Adrian Layton apprenticeship, in partnership with Cambridge Regional College, at the college’s fair during National Careers Week.
The apprenticeship is a fantastic opportunity for an inspired individual looking to kickstart their career. A Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship, the role will see the successful candidate work alongside our Logistics Team, to develop critical business skills within a key area of our business.
In addition to the unveiling of the Adrian Layton Apprenticeship, our team have been raising money for Addenbrooke’s Oncology Department. People from across our business took on the challenge of riding over 500 miles on a static bike to support the department.
We are so proud of each and every one of our colleagues who has taken the time to ride the bike and we are committed to raising as much as possible in Adrian’s memory.
Speaking on Adrian, Mark Turner, Managing Director of M Group Services’ Telecom Division, said: “It still feels strange to come into our Logistics Warehouse and not be greeted by Adrian, after working with him for 15 years. Well done to all of the staff for their incredible efforts in honouring a well-respected member of our team.”
Sam Saunders, Managing Director of Magdalene said: “Adrian was a bedrock of our Logistics team at Magdalene and his untimely loss impacted many across the organisation. It has been great to do something positive in his memory by the launch of an apprenticeship and raising funds for those involved in his treatment”
Tom Howell, Warehouse Manager at Magdalene, said: “Adrian was very funny, kind and extremely knowledgeable. If anyone needed to know anything about work, we do here, they'd go to Adrian. He is missed by all who were fortunate enough to work with him.”
We’d like to thank everyone who has donated in memory of Adrian.
